Group History

Airmax Group®, formed in April 2005, specialises in remote vehicle diagnostics, asset management and smart telecoms. The team at Airmax has more than 170 years combined experience and industry knowledge in developing hardware design, hosted and client based solutions.

The Directors and Founders were previously involved with, or fully orchestrated the development of, many well known branded products within the telematics market sector, including "Trakbak", "TARDIS", "Traffix", "Celtrak", "Star-Track" and "Recce". Current products include Profleet2® and Airmax Remote®.

The team has considerable experience with all aspects of the telematics industry and associated technologies. Communications experience ranges from wide area systems, including data-only networks (e.g. Mobitex) through cellular to satellite (e.g. Inmarsat), plus short-range systems such as Bluetooth.

This is coupled with the team’s in-depth understanding of vehicle communication systems (e.g. CAN and J1939) and both satellite (GPS) and terrestrial positions systems and techniques. We also have significant experience with a broad range of short-range and long range tagging solutions (125kHz to 2.45 GHz).

Airmax, via its branded telematics unit - Airmax Remote (AMXR), offers a low cost and proprietary GSM based technology for collecting and delivering comprehensive, real-time automotive diagnostic data and satellite-based location services to leasing companies, scheme insurers, fleets, car owners, dealers and other potential vehicle data users.

AMXR combines remote diagnostics (RVD) and GPS technology to provide a rich source of vehicle data that reaches beyond simple vehicle tracking (AVL) and security products. AMXR is an evolution in design as the system is no longer is installed by complicated procedures and involving wire cutting but a patented plug-in.

Within the telecoms market the team have experience with VoIP and CTP SIM management.
